Trying to generate an exact reversal of a gpx route. No matter what I do on Strava routes it alters the route at various points. Anybody got a better method

OS Maps has an option to reverse a route. As have Garmin Connect and Basecamp, though free the latter is not the easiest for occasional use.

You can have it done in under a minute: "Load route", "Reverse route", "Save route". Done.
