Spent Sunday in the Peaks, rode from edale up mamm tor, the footpath from Mamm tor to the broken road, Cavedale, Pindale, cement works, Bradwell Edge, cement works, up the broken road and back down into edale (first decent). Currently running about 30% sag and 3-4 clicks of compression on the blue dial. And it feels Ok.
But despite probably riding faster and harder than I normaly do I only used about 125mm of the travel, there was a good inch left (as evidenced by the o-ring).
Am I;
a) still in this-is-a-novelty-and-isn't-a-hardtail mode and need to get back into the habit of leaning forewards more rather than staying in the middle of the bike.
b) running too much compression, do you run it fully open on the downs? If I take the compression off I'll need more air otherwise the front feels like it's pileing into stuff and diving down rather than bouncing over it.
c) a riding god/jeycore mincer who doesn't need 6" of suspension and everything's just about correct, the rear suspension wasn't using the last 7mm or so of shaft either even with propedal off.
