I'm in the middle of restoring a 1939 Phillips Roadster. I need a new freewheel, the original is a French made item, the rim is Dunlop but I can't yet see any name on the hub as its probably under many layers of paint.
Would I be safe in assuming that I need a French 1.366"x25.4 tpi freewheel rather than an English one (1.370"x24)?
I also need a single spoke and nipple for the same wheel. I guess I just measure one of the others to get the size i need?
Any clues as to where I might get the freewheel from?
An english thread freewheel should be easily to hand; if that doesn't fit, it should be safe to assume it's a french thread.
I think I'd be searching e-bay for that sort of thing.
Spoke length should be a simple case of measure one and buy the same.
