I am in the process of trying to replace my dust seals on my Rockshox Recon forks have managed everything up to now but can't get the new dust seals in. I have the tool thing and have tried with grease and leaving them in the fridge overnight but still no luck. The replacements are identical to the old ones...
any suggestions?

last time I did a seal swap I used a socket to push the seals in. it wasn't easy though.

Help of a rubber mallet onto the seal driver will help, stand the lowers on a soft block of wood to protect them though. ๐Ÿ˜€ and remove the springs before you do it to protect them.

Didn't realise you could resit the springs once the seals are in position.

Ones loco supply come with grease, but i still have to add a litle more - its getting them in without them folding over and potentially damaging the springs. I actually use the Hope tool for resetting the Pro 2 hub seal and i'm getting better with practice.

That's the external springs on the external lip of the seal, obviously put them onto the fork legs as soon as you remove them so you don't forget before refitting the lowers ๐Ÿ˜‰
