[Closed] Replace Reverb Connectamajg with standard fitting?

I've bought a new Reverb that came with a Connectamajig, but that makes it too long for my seat tube.  Can  replace it with the standard connector from the old post - SRAM part <span style="background-color: #eeeeee; color: #454545; font-size: 12px;">11.6815.025.010</span><span style="background-color: #eeeeee; color: #454545; font-size: 12px;"> </span>

I know I could buy the part new, but to get the job done quickly, and save £8, does anyone know if that part is reusable - maybe I need a new barb (I havent taken the old connector off to have a proper look at it yet).

Thanks

Yes, it works fine, had to do the same myself only last week.

Thanks - just watched a SRAM video and realise now that the barb is integral to the older style connector.  Never really seen the value in the Connectormajig, happy to do without it.

yeah it works fine. Did the same when I put a new post on existing bike so I didn't have to re do the routing etc

Yeah, you have to get the parts just right and it can make fitting a bit more faffy in some bikes (though not all) but it's great if the fit's tight and means a little less weight and one less thing to fail. It's a pretty odd thing to fit as standard tbh

I reckon it is a very useful bit of kit...but I've had 9 Reverbs fail on me so was pleased to be able to remove with ease and without the fluid loss.

I removed a connectamajig from a post as it would mean the post had to sit proud of the collar or kink the cable, no detrimental effects, no bleeding, just removed the connectamajig and put the hose straight in.

Same fittings, not complicated.
