Is it possible, I want to have a bolt through (old style) rather than a QR, but looking at it I guess it's not possible without a new hub, is this the case?
Some rear hubs can be converted, e.g. Hopes.
And some hollow axles are threaded on the inside to take bolts, again some Hope and my On-one one...
what's the hub? It is quite straightforward on shimano or pretty much any budget cup'n'cone'n'loose bearings hub.
Budget jobbie for sure. So yeah, loose bearings most likely. Is there a good generic guide for what (normally) goes where on a standard hub, assuming I'm a clutz and will drop bearings etc at first opportunity...
For cup and cone hubs you can by a solid axle you can fix with nuts that will be much stiffer than a QR you can buy them here.
