Hit a car and came of my bike a few weeks ago on the commute home. It was a stinker of a day and I guess I pretty much aquaplaned across the tarmac.
Jacket not damaged by the road, looks like it was cut up when I hit the car. Left elbow area, lots of little cuts, about 5-10 little cuts no more than 10-15mm in the jacket
Anyone got any experience of sending goretex stuff away to be repaired?

The cheapo way to do this is to buy the iron-on patches you can buy in out door shops. I had a similar get off and had to repair with these patches and they have been no problem. The jacket has been washed loads of times and the patches show no sign of lifting.

I slid down some scree climbing in the alps in '05 and tore my trousers. Put a patch on and it's stayed put ever since. Ragged gear makes you look hard and cool too.

Hard and cool. Something I've definitively been missing ๐Ÿ™‚

I'll have a look at some of the patches then.

Cheers

I did exactly the same with my Gore Alp X jacket. These people did a fantastic job.
