I have a Nobby Nic UST with approx 12mm cut in the treaded area. I would normal just bin the tyre but its only 2 weeks old. So can the tyre be patched ? If so what do i need to buy to do the job?

I fixed a racing ralph (that had a large slit from glass) by first patching it with a standard size puncture kit patch, then patching over a larger area with section a inner tube patch from Halfords (the kind that you cut to size yourself). I had no trouble with it for the lifetime of the tyre. I think the large patch cost about £3.
