As in the title i've installed one and then realized i need some spacers on the drive side. How do i remove it without damaging it.

For the future does everyone still use the inner sleeve on bottom brackets?

Thanks

Assuming it's BB86/92 then if there's an internal 'ledge - small taps with a large, flat-bladed screwdriver, Park BBt-90.3 or simply visit your LBS.

In terms of BB inner sleeve, depends on whether the BB shell is 'sealed' or you get water ingress via the seat tube and chainstays - water down the seat tube is what kills BBs the quickest, as the bearings are immersed in dirty water.

Depends on the BB you're taking out - I found the shimano pretty fragile and was glad I had no intention of reusing it.ย  LBS will have proper tools for the job.

If it's a plastic SRAM PF30 one the answer is really carefully.

With one of those I might use a bit of wooden dowel as a drift rather than a screwdriver if it had plastic cups that I wanted to reuse.

Mine was scrap anyway but it got mullered on the way out. I wasn't wasting time being gentle if I'm honest but it would be easy for one bad whack to write it off.

Depending how tight it is you may be able to carefully tap it out.

Unior do a nice tool for BB86/92 that tends to pull them out intact

Just like banks are having to compensate PPI customers, bike firms should have to compensate people they sold crappy pressfit bearing frames to.
