Mate of mine is facing this choice for an insurance replacement, for an all rounder, only bike, mainly UK trails use with occasional Alps trip and Cwm Carn type trip thrown in. I'm vering between the Trek (better for Alps / DH fun?) and the Lapierre (better all rounder / all dayer?). I ruled out the Spec because its too XC oriented, mistake?
Thoughts or experiences anyone? Cheers!
Bump - anyone?
I'm sure either would work as although the Trek has 10mm more travel I know the Zesty rides like a bigger bike minus the weight.
FWIW I have just ordered a Remedy 8
ask for cash instead
Got a Trek Remedy 8 a couple of months ago and descends very well and is fine as all day bike.
No experience of others though so cannot comment.
Not sure if cash is an option b r. Seems like either bike would be good.
The new stumpy fsr has 140mm travel and if the "old" one with "only" 120mm was anything to go by it ain't too xc'y.
