Came back from holiday having spent the last two days on the toilet or in bed.

I'm over the worst but figure I spent about 3 days where I ate virtually noting but imodium and diarlyte and have only just eaten a proper meal but have been eating when I feel hungry for the last few days.

I cycled to work this morning and it was a bit of an effort. But the weather is nice and I want to go biking.

So any tips on speeding up the recovery. Any experience on whether it's a temporary blip in fitness or if I will need to do some serious work to recover?

You'll be fine! Your body has just gone from running on fumes to you wanting to push it to its limit in cycling no dought its going to be complaining, let your body run normal for a day or so and you'll be back to normal... (I do like to think of my body as a machine) worked for me last time I ate a dodgy kebab!

Gotta hate food poisoning! What food you put off? Or don't you know what it was? I've sadly been put off my two favourite foods, Spicy Spuds and Kebabs boooo!

Having said all that I have no real scientific clue other than my previous experience!

Getting food poisoning is one of the best performance enhancers out there!!!!

I got it last year and lasted about a week, it took me a few days for my legs to come back to life, but as i'd lost around 2kg, i was flying up every hill i came too.

Sometimes there's an up side to feeling really crap for a few days!

It was somewhere in Morocco that I got it, was eating out at every meal so could have been anything. Probably dodgy meat with couscous. Tagines are normally still boiling when served so not likely to be them.

I got it from a chorizo sausage about two years ago which was odd because that stuff normally lasts forever without being refrigerated. Haven't eaten once since and can't even stand the smell anymore. GF's the same with chinese food after a bad experience in Paris.
