Hello all

a group of us are heading on a coast to coast from morecambe to whitby

day one is Morecambe to Pateley bridge and I am looking at stopping around Quernmore for a first break/food stop then a second stop around Airton

Obviously I have googled but not much appears on maps for these areas in terms of pubs and cafes.

Anyone with any recommendations?

Thankyou

Nothing in Quernmore but The Fleece in Dolphinholme is the obvious detour, slightly further south, and you'd be able to connect with the Trough/Boundary Fell quite easily by going via Abbeystead afterwards. You'd also get to avoid the Jubilee climb which would be a bonus ;o)

You pass a nice cafe in Halton called Red Door (but I think it has shut for a refurb), there is also a pub and a chippy. The Redwell Inn is a nice pub. Or press onto somewhere like Hornby that has a pub and tea rooms.

I'd say that Quernmore is a little early as it's very easy going as far as there. If your route is going via Quernmore then it's likely that you are heading over the Trough of Bowland in which case there's a cafe, Puddleducks, in Dunsop Bridge.

There's a cafe at Airton, Town Head Farm, it's currently featuring in some TV programme, on the road towards Malham.ย  (That's a link but it's really hard to see) There's also a cafe in Hellifield, called Hazy Days.
