As above, my Shimano XC61 are kaput, so after some replacement xc shoes. The XC61 are a little narrow but good for length.
Can anyone recommend some shoes/a brand with wider toe box? I realise shimano do wide fitting in some styles albeit can be tricky to get hold of.
thanks, chris
I've just bought a set of XC7, I've got pretty wide feet and they fit nicely in normal width.
You can get wide fits of quite a few brands (eg Sidi, but often not in the UK).
I've got wide toes but a fairly narrow heel. Specialized have always fit me well (better than Shimano).
interesting ref. the XC7's, they look good ta and the BOA is good IMO.
I've got on well with Spesh shoes in the past but a pair I tried last year felt like they'd gone a bit narrow.
Giro do a wide fitting versions of their shoes as well.
I'd recommend Spesh shoes, massively reliable, last for ages and super comfortable.
These (and at a discounted price http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/7341/2015-s-works-trail-mtb/

Giro or northwave.
Lakes. Normal fit is quite wide, wide fit is very wide 🙂

Odd - I found my standard fit Lakes to be narrow. Was years ago though.
I have a pair of Lake MX237s. They are definitely wider than previous Shimanos I've had. The MX332 ones use a slightly narrower last than the 2xx series.
Another for Specialized here.
Spesh wearers - are you going for your normal shoe size or sizing up at all?
ta.
Normal size in Spesh.
bought my Lakes, road and off road this
Bont - biggest toe box of pretty much any shoes on the market as forefoot design is very different shape.
They are also fully mouldable multiple times and crazy stiff (yet feel like wearing slippers). Have the road shoes and they are fantastic - if a little ugly!
