Looking for some nice bars with the ergo flat top, but not crazy expensive. Say £30-60, happy with alloy, 42cm.

Have no idea what to look for / what brands are good outside of MTB.

Ritchey Streem, you can get the Comp or possibly the WCS alloy versions for your budget, I think the cheaper Comp actually has a nice wee bump on the drops which fits in your palm quite nicely.

Ergo flat top/back sweep, but no flare which I don't miss but some people seem to think is essential on gravel bars

I don’t think there are many gravel bars with a flat top. The one I did find are Prime Orro Aero gravel handle bars. They are carbon and have £149 price tag. I have the Road version and they are great comfortable bars. I have never thought about aero gravel bars before but you may have a good idea there.

Pro Discover. Flat top, flare angle options. The widest 30 degree flare feels quite wide for the nominal size though.

Deda is always my go to choice when looking drop handle bars.

Don't get hung up on the gravel tag, many road handle bars will be just as good.

Take a look at these:

I use the 46cm SL version on two bikes - same shape as these but slightly lighter.

The beauty of these, for me, is that the “flare” is only in the drops meaning your shifters aren’t at a jaunty angle that require wrists made out of tangfastics but you get the benefit of the width.

I tried a fair few of the bendier bars but my wrists were having none of it.

There are plenty of reviews about but they tend to be of the SL that is ~£100 but the non SL ^^ is the same shape:

The nice thing about Ritchey is that they differentiate between drop flare and flare out...

Cheers all, they all look good. Bit of research before picking and must use my will not to buy from an unknown ebayer traders to save 50% 😂

Handlebars purchases must be from most reputable shop.

I bought some 44/54 wide flared bars for £60 of the web. Got an additional loop for mounting stuff on our front. At the moment that bit gets in the way.

The 54 flare drop occasionally gets caught in narrow gates. Whilst the original non flared didn't.

Otherwise they seem ok. If a little heavy at 550g.

The loop up front is at a high angle as well and isn't the same diameter tube as a normal bar so fitting stuff isn't as easy as I would of liked.

Ritchey beacon, aero top but with shallow drops and decent flare. I hated the flat top and the elliptical shape so gave mine away and got a round bar instead.

Ritchey Butano (second gen) here. Slight flare out, slight flat top, work well.
