At Easter I’ll be travelling down from York to the outlaws at Clows Top, Worcester, for 3 to 4 days.
I’ve been before & did a couple of rides in Wyre Forest & through to Bewdly (all unplanned & with no navigation, just following paths etc) but this time would like to expand on this.
Can anyone recommend me some routes preferably ridable from Clow’s Top, or nearby?
Following this we would like to have a couple of days in Wales on the way home, preferably mid to north Wales.
So again can you recommend me a couple of places to ride, probably trail centres, more XC focused than DH, with a nice hotel or pub close by for 2-3 nights mid week.
i used to fancy the girl who worked at the post office at clows top, used to see her in the cash and carry, never plucked up courage to ask her out though 😕
HTH
The Wyre Forest is a bit of a nitemare to give routes for, I think you'd struggle to get a good flowing ride even using a GPS, a guide would be your best bet IMO. Create a new post nearer to the dates, with Wyre forest in the title, to see who's available. Definitely regular friendly group rides (steady or fast groups - your choice) on Sunday's starting from the Duke pub just up from the Visitors centre.
I live near there and know the area quite well.
If you're interested in doing some longer rides, to Bewdley and other nearby places, rather than just sticking to the forest, I could probably recommend some routes joining up bridleways with lanes.
I don't want to commit myself until I know what else I've got planned, but if I'm around at Easter I can show you some routes.
I was recently shown around and I have to agree many good bits would be quite hard to find. Great place.
RocketDog - my GF lived opposite but didn't work in the PO.
Thanks for the replies - what about wales?
OK cheers
