My daughters Islabike rear wheel is about to let go, so time for an upgrade.
Shes only 10 so I dont want to spend a load but it would be a chance to get something nice and new.
She uses tyres from 1.5CX tyres to probably 1.95MTB tyres and is on V brakes, any recommendations on a light 26"rim, probably built onto a deore hub or so I would guess
What do you reckon?
Probably easier to keep an eye out on ebay for a good rear wheel from somebody upgrading to discs.
Failing that, put an add on the wanted forum, loads of people on here will have an old v brake wheel kicking around, i'm sure you'll get something cheap and probably reasonably high spec.
If you are desperate for a new wheel, any decent v brake rim will be fine for a 10 yr old, just stay away from the freeride/downhill orientated ones.
If you're looking for something new try picking up some old stock mavics X317 or X517. Anything ending ...17 basically.
sure merlin have some sale v-brake wheels that have been languishing in their specials section for a year or so.
