Surely you don't need a whole tin to break in a saddle, no?
As such, anyone got any spare in a tin that I could chuck a few quid their way for?

You're supposed to apply it occasionally - not just as part of the breaking in process. At just over £5 per tin, it's hardly breaking the bank.
