Putting together a weekends excursion to mid / north Wales. Have done the usual trial centres and looking for something different. Something less man-made, lots of exposure, 4 / 5 hours circular route where we are unlikely to encounter many other folk would be ideal!

Many thanks!

My back yard. Stay in Ruthin, plenty of pubs and a great Indian takeaway. What more could you wish for. Even camp here at my local http://www.threepigeonsinn.co.uk/

Go for something in the Berwyns, never see anyone there.

Berwyns great too. Wayfayer can be busy with 4x4's and motorcycles. But that's only one trail in an otherwise beautiful area. Can be very boggy if it's been raining. Actually, it's boggy even in a drought ๐Ÿ˜€

Not going in a couple of weeks time are you? Might want to avoid Ruthin if you are looking for quiet, decent circular route with free camping available though.

Was up in the Berwyns yesterday, didn't see another biker all day, only a couple of walkers around the falls.

I'd definatley go again, some big ass climbs and cracking descents.

I followed the route off the routes section on here, did the medium one, 21 miles and took 4 hours, weather was god awful though.

The "Boggy Section" was knee deep in water too, nearly lost one of the guys ๐Ÿ˜†

Lots of pics of the Tywi track on my flikr page. The tops will be VERY wet at the moment, so allow lots of time if going for the whole loop. Devils Staircase to Strata Florida and then return makes a good ride, and surprisingly varied despite it's 'there and back' style.
