Next year I am fifty and planning a big roadtrip for a few of us to celebrate.
We are mostly xc type riders but don't mind steep ups and downs, were just a bit old in the tooth for Northshore type stuff and like to keep our wheels reletively close to the ground ๐Ÿ˜†
Any recommendations for anywhere in the world appreciated

Take a look at this link.

http://www.swindon.gov.uk/roadstransport/cycling.htm

On the site you can request a cycle map of Swindon armed with this you could contruct a tour of some of the seven wonders of Swindon

* Magic Roundabout
* Honda Factory
* Lydiard Country Park
* County Ground (the home of Swindon Town F.C.
* Priory Vale
* Steam Railway Museum
* The David Murray John Tower

Hows that grab you?

Somewhere your likely to get kidnapped and held to ransom . . . .

I'm crying out for some SAS kick-ass style action!!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the bikes on ebay!

If you want a trip of a lifetime, go do Dushanbe to Bishkek via Osh (that's Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan).

Most utterly beautiful road I've ever ridden. Perfect for an xc bike with a small-load. Millions of places to stay. Gorgeous terrain. Massive mountain passes over unpaved roads. Easy to get visas. Unbelievably friendly people. Culture shock.

trip of a LIFETIME

Moab.

Bash around the desert during the day and stuff yourself with food and beer in the local hostelries in the evening.
