Staying very nearby and will have an afternoon to ride.
Is the cat and fiddle climb as dangerous as google makes out, is it one to avoid or one to go and do?
I'm meeting family so while I would love to tackle every hill in the are, I think others would prefer something more rolling and enjoyable.
Buxton , down to Whaley bridge , into New Mills ,back up to Chapel and into via Winnats pass> Edale ,into Tideswell ,over to the bookstore A515 and back into Buxton
I ride the cat and fiddle every week miles safer than some of the narrow country lanes round here.
Was covered in snow earlier in the week, but should be OK by now.
muttermuttermuttertotallywrongbikefortheareawouldhavemuchmorefunonaproperbikegrumblemuttergrumble. Have Fun ๐ great area to go road biking in.
Buxton to top of Long Hill, left down to Errwood Reservoir, right up to the top of the ridge, right into Kettleshulme (take the left fork on the small road), right into Whaley Bridge, through Whaley to Chapel-en-le-Frith, Hayfield, New Mills, back to Whaley Bridge, up Long Hill, down to Errwood Reservoir again, left up to Derbyshire Bridge and Cat and Fiddle, left and down into Buxton.
About 35 miles, 3300 feet climbing. One of my regular spins out.
PS No snow left now. There were a couple of inches of slushy stuff on the very highest bits on Thursday morning last week but it went quickly (not quickly enough for me to avoid wiping out in it though)
Have Fun great area to go road biking in.
My sister is a triathlete, so road biking is the only option.
Thanks for he suggestions
South towards The Roaches and back towards Macc/ Wild Boar Clough and the Cat and Fiddle.
