My winter commute is only a short 5 or 6 miles but with 2 hard hills that always make me swaet and I don't think a waterproof will be ideal as I tend to run 'hot' anyway, so after reading recent posts can anyone recommend a thin fleece with an outer pertex type material, ideally something that I can wear without another top underneath and quick drying for when it does get wet?

So far all I can find is the Marmot Driclime Windshirt (liking this) and a Rab Vapour (bit expensive?) what else is out there?

I think the Buffalo type pile/pertex tops will be overkill?

Ta 🙂

Oh, and something with bright-ish colours, not stealth black or grey?

Buffalo used to do lighter weight stuff for more active pursuits.

I run hot as well. I would get a pertex windproof and a microfleece, then you have got a bit of flexibility and will probably cost you less. Ribble have some cheap addidas windproofs. I run an old parrot windproof plus a base layer or long sleeve jersey. An alternative would be some of the windproof front jackets, I have one of these as well as they are very good, mine is an exte ondo one.
