Sorry if this has been asked hundreds of times before, but the search function threw up tons of posts on laptops, computers, bikes etc.

Anyhoo. What's a reasonable mid priced computer for a road bike for things like distance, speed, ascent, descent etc. I don't need a top of the range one that can tell me EPO levels and maximum leg stubble lenght.

Have you a shimano shifter set if so you could go for the flight Deck computer as it will be able to fit inside the shifter hoods as long as it a compatible model? You would need the fitting kit as well though 😉

Ahh OK - they have a wired button each shifter to cycle through the controls on the computer and also idenfifies what gear ratios you are in and therefore your cadence without the need to a crank sensor.

There should be a little nobble on the inner face of teh hood where your thumb sits id they are compatible.

I'll try and find the splurge....
