My aging Exposure Flash has had its day, so what should I look for to replace it? To be used to be seen, including in daylight, rather than to see with. Ideally rechargeable and capable of doing a weeks riding - 10 hours or so - between charges

Thanks

I really rate my Cateye Volt 300. Can be had for around 30 quid if you shop about. USB rechargeable so can just plug into my computer at work if it's low. Has 3 levels of brightness and 2 flashing modes (one standard on/off and the other pulsing) Feels solid in the hand and well made.

Plug it in at work and IT security will have raised a report with my boss within 10 minutes! 🙄

Hence the need for a few days run time.

High mode 300 lumens? 3hrs
Normal mode 100 lumens? 8hrs
Low mode 50 lumens?18hrs
Hyper Constant mode 300/50 lumens?11hrs
Flashing mode 50 lumens?60hrs

I use the hyper constant in the day and mainly the normal at night (unlit canal tow path)

Counter that with a H&S flag (presuming you have some sort of system for raising minor H&S points) that not being able to charge lights is a safety issue?

Alternatively, buy a USB charging cable, without the data wires in it the PC won't register that it's there, or buy a USB charging plug and leave it under your desk.

Or; a dynamo setup? Or a cheap set of lights and a magic shine rear light from china? Probably not that cheap though compared tot he smaller, neater options.

I have on of these, can second the review findings

Saw online for sale for £40 this week. I use it for a handtorch also. Don't know the runtime on flashing but on dimmest setting it last all week and is more than bright enough to be seen by.

If its a decent usb rechargeable flasher you're after get some of these Lezyne knock offs

I've got a load of them for most of our bikes, prices seem to have crept up recently but even at £8.50 each they are very good. Bright and they last me a week of commuting (about 6hrs) on a charge. Can be had for about £3 from China.

I use my Cateye Volt 300 on hyperconstant all the time, day and night. It lasts hours before needing to be charged. You can also buy a spare battery for it
