I have just bought a new place and it has a garage much to my wifes delight since she currently live with 4 bikes in the bedroom....bless her!

My insurance stipulates that I need to lock the bikes to an immovable object when in the garage, and being in London I reckon this is a good idea!

Any suggestions? My first though was an Oxford ground anchor.

Needs a 16mm drill bit and off you go.

I am sure someone will come along now with that video of the guy with the massive bolt cutters pinging locks off at 15 seconds a time but I figure that if by the time the prospective tea leaf has got through the secured garage door then they are just as likely to chop the frames up for parts nicking as they are to lever a lock... and by consequence your farked by then anyway and its an insurance job.

Hopefully I'll never find out the extent of the effectiveness!

+1 on the Oxford chainlock and ground anchor ^^

fitted to wall of house recently, through the back wall of my shed and its solid as you like. Just make sure the lock itself is as good!

Having seen missing brickwork and a space in a garage where there use to be a wall-mounted ground anchor and a Ducati..., I'd be installing it into a concrete floor.
