Most modern rear mechs connect with a really short run of cable outer from the chainstay to the mech.

I have this XTR jobbie

Which although a modern design requires a loop of cable from the seat stay round to the mech.

I take it that had I wanted to lose that loop of cable I should have bought a shadow type mech?

Is there anything I can do to lose that loop, looked for a rollermajig but they dont make them now.

Correct - but then folk have had these loops of cable for years and I'm not aware it's ever been a huge issue.

rollamajigs available on ebay (perhaps US) IIRC.

Otherwise you will indeed have to (gasp!) have a loop of cable, unless you fancy trying to bodge a v-brake cable loop.

It isn't and it's never been a problem, just looks neater.
