Been riding my Purgatories front & back for the past 12 months and have enjoyed every minute. Last night the side wall punctured and, on closer inspection the entire side wall is looking a little raggedy.

Sadly the sealant had dried up. Who would have thought warm conditions would dry the sealant out quicker! Only went tubeless in the winter last year so still picking these things up.

First time with Spec tyres and have been impressed. Can pick up an older 2.2 Purgatory for £20. Newer models are 2.3 and £30. I'm not tyre loyal yet and keen to try something different.

Anything you care to recommend that won't break the bank?

Purgatory Grid? Will give that extra protection on a tyre you know you love?
Ive been riding Maxxis Beavers 2.35 Exos on my solaris, and they have been ace so far and work in far more than just mud. Roll well too.

Hmmm, I have enjoyed them though that could just be the 29er lovelyness. Only went 29er last year so not tried another tyre & I've nothing to compare them to.

Geax Saguaro 2.2 TNT
Not too tall treads but quite dense pattern and tough sidewalls.
Somebody will come along and tell you they're a so and so to fit but with some slight tyre lever persuasion they went on Arch ex rims easy enough.

Keep meaning to put my Maxxis Ikon back on, reasonable width, and grips surprisingly well in the slop but not in thick clingy stuff. Love my Maxxis Beaver's but have to replace em asap, as I've killed a rear one over last winter (central tread totally shot) & want to save the front one for next.
