I know the rules - don't post if you're not ready for a flaming...

However, a few disclaimers and time saving confessions: -

This is the result of my first ever build so be gentle. I'm also new to picture posting...
Fence is appalling.
Grass is shocking.
Logos all over the place.
Mismatched wheels (trying out 20mm forks).
Front rotor out of proportion (anybody selling a Hayes V7 with adaptor?).

The bits are a mix of new purchases and garage detritus, frame courtesy of stw.

Here goes...[IMG] [/IMG]

nice, hate the seatpost.

You must live "darn sarf" as you appear to have a coconut tree in your garden?

It's hard to tell from the angle, but I suspect you've done the stem bolts up to 4.8nm when they should be done to 5nm. I'm shocked really.

You have played it safe there. Although you do have non-matching rims.

Agree seatpost is a shocker, works on a previous hardtail but an aberration on this bike - saving for something a little more conventional and attractive (don't think the budget will stretch to a Gravity Dropper though.

No coconuts and sunny Cheshire based - no idea about the sweet peas - gardens are for building bikes!

Are you a qualified cable weaver?

That front hose is going to cut like a saw through all those others.

You should get all the dead growth out of that jasmine too...

Front hose needs to go round the inside of the fork leg. Other than that, nice bike, enjoy it!

Finally a nice looking chumba frame!

That faffy fat black bottom bracket thing is there so you don't have to use all those gears, by the way. 😉
(and it would go some way to sorting out the cableopolis up front!)

I've got one of them which is waiting to be built up. Just gotta wait for the broken arm to heal...

Thanks for rubbing it in!

Having yet to pop my ss cherry, how exactly does the set up work? What would I need to do to change what I have into a ss (apart from lose the gears and possibly smaller forks!)

I don't think it's a coconut tree, there appears to be a lot of small grey fruits fallen off it.....
