We'd better cancel it then ๐Ÿ˜‰

1) Wear a hat.
2) Don't be soft.

I'm getting "Mostly cloudy" or "Light rain" depending on which site I look at for 10 miles down the road.

If the weather is really bad, we could just get shitfaced in the R&C and crash chez binners/bagpuss ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weather forecast for Saturday has improved from the 25 mph winds and 50+ mph gusts that were in yesterdays forecasts (guesses).

Is there a final deal on the route yet? Am interested but easing back from an injury ๐Ÿ™‚ thank you.

Cheers
Paul

The route isn't set in stone but it may be along the following lines*

Rose & Crown
Rake
Tower
Helmshore
Edenfield
Turbines
Cragg Quarry
Rooley Moor Road
Ashworth Moor Reservoir
Nangreave
Rammy
Rose & Crown

*Perhaps

That's always an option Derek. I think that's probably on the cards at some point anyway. The riding will just be postponing the inevitable. I'll investigate the menu this evening and post it up

50mph gusts? Its a good job we're not going riding in the kind of place they'd locate a wind farm then eh? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Stop moaning about the weather. We're meant to be Northern!

Don't forget to bring your sports nutrition. We can have a sugar frenzy at the top of The Coal Road.

I've also got a SIS Go bar (parrot poo or monkey puke flavour, I forget which).

Rusty Spanner -

Cheers for the offer but it appears i'm sorted ๐Ÿ™‚ Depending on how we feel on friday night we're either gonna join you lot or do a 50 mile organised road spin out of Barrowford.

MTB is winning at the moment... ๐Ÿ˜‰

P.S. What sort of pace are we looking at?

Pace will be just fast enough to not stall and fall over. Anyone up for doing this ride naked ? ๐Ÿ˜€

Not sure if we can still make it, real life has got in the way.
Fingers crossed.

The isobars are rather intimate with each other which means breezy and unsettled. I don't give a shit - we'll be out on our toys having a laugh.

I was up on these same hills all yesterday afternoon in high winds. You should have a tailwind to help you up the Coal Road but be careful at Cragg Quarry and even more carefull-er at Lee Quarry if you go over there. There are consequences for being 'blown off'.

It's surprisingly quite warm out too, so don't go mad with the layers or you'll be sweating like a Bangkok money lender after 10 minutes.

You'll be reet. You might all need to MTFU a bit at times but as long as you don't start crying all will be ok.
Shame it's at the same time as t'other ride really, I'd have liked to have joined in.

Probably me and possibly the lad too. So, there's only 2 on that list I don't know or have at least met. Which is nice.

Cool. I thought you were "Ooot".

Bring chip/beer money. Prize for the best shaved balls.

Is one considerably bigger than the other or shaped like a vegetable?

I've seen Uncle Joe's, but not Sefton's.
How many do you get for 50p?

Dead easy. Find the big urn outside The Grant's Arms in the middle of Rammy (think 10' up turned pot). Head up the hill 200m. Rose and Crown on corner.

FFS, what a choice!

A Ramsbottom (!) ride with a bunch of genitally shaven pervs in a gale or another trip to Llandegla :(((

Cracking ride and I got to touch a wind turbine. It was good to ride with some fellow STW botherers too. For those into ride stat's, our highest point was 640m bang on noon!

640m ??? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ A Donald in Rammy?
Ramsbottom's topography must have changed a lot since I last visited ๐Ÿ™‚
