Hi all,
At the moment im using my hard tail (Orange Crush) a fair bit, some times biking to work (5m roads/paths), i also use the bike for bridleways and the odd bit of forest tracks etc (genrally id say mainly xc)
Im after something fast rolling but with enough grips to be useful on the above, im thinking.....
2.1 Maxxis ignitor on the front single ply possibly even wired &
2.0 cross mark or larsen on the rear
Ive no experience with any of the above tyres and just wanted some thoughts and/or opinions as to whether they would be fit for purpose.
Thanks in advance for any comments!
Andy
I've been using a standard Crossmark tubless on my the rear of my Marin Rocky Ridge for a while. I really like it. Plenty grip on rock and mud. Nice and fast. It's no Minion but for a fast tyre it's magic.
I use that bike for commuting (5m on road/cyclepaths), XC and trail centers.
I'm not a fan of them for the front though. I prefer something bigger and more bulby to absorb impacts on rocky descents.
I've used Nobby Nics for a while too but prefer the Crossmark. Much faster rolling.
Smallblock8's.
Seem like tehy would be a good choice for what you describe. Schwalbe smart sam a worthy rear tyre too. Better than an Ignitor on anything off camber and/or soft
nowt wrong with that Ignitor
ok, these tires are awesome, might not be what you had in mind, but look at the colours :s
