I've just bought some new quick release skewers with an overall length of 145mm (with nut fully engaged). I assumed this would be long enough but it seems to be a good 5mm shorter than the one I have taken out. As a result I can't fully engage the nut and close the skewer, hence it isn't safe.
Does anyone know of where I can get a 150mm quick release skewer - and it needs to be in red!

May not be of use, but i've replaced the skewer axle with 5mm stainless studding to work with a disc brake adapter. Wouldn't recommend ordinary studding though, def not strong enough.

Why do I think salsa do some longer ones that you could trim down?
