If I'm paying someone using my Paypal balance (so I have cash in my Paypal account), and I pay via 'normal' Paypal (ie. not gift), does the seller receive the full amount I send to them? Or do they get hit with a fee at their end and receive less?

I think there's a fee but you have the option to pay it yourself instead of them paying it.

They get hit for a fee.

Bugger... any idea how much? Paypal's website is less than forthcoming, at least that I can find anyhoo... Didn't get an option to pay the fee when I sent the payment (you get this with gift, not sure if you do when paying for something).

Standard fee to receive funds is 3.4% if you are a seller/normal person accepting funds.

There is no fee if you send money as a Gift, which some sellers here on STW seem increasingly keen on, however when buying goods that way there is zero Buyer Protection, which kind of defeats the purpose of using Paypal in the 1st place.
