I have no experince of 29ers at all and I was just idling looking about and saw this bike ( http://www.brothertoncycles.com/store/rockhopper/74-2013-rockhopper-comp-29er.html) and noticed the wheel description said:

RIMS RH Disc, 29", alloy double-wall, 26mm, pin joint, 36h
FRONT HUB Specialized MTB disc hub, alloy, Hi Lo flange, RCC ball bearing system, steel axle, QR, 32h
REAR HUB Specialized MTB disc hub, alloy, Hi Lo flange, RCC ball bearing system, steel axle, steel cassette body, QR, 32h

I have 3 questions.

1. 36hole rims with 32hole hubs... is this normal or am I totally getting the wrong end of the stick?

2. Is "RCC ball bearing system" a sealed unit or cup and cone?

3. As budget wheels go are these any good?

1 is a typo. Not very likely and of true certainly
Wrong.

2. No idea.

3. They are probably OK as Spesh so should be fine.

RCC might be something (radial?) Cup and cone - ballbearing says to me cup and cone though. Given the alt is cartridge = 'better' if it was a sealed cartridge I'm pretty sure they'd say it

Don't know if they are 'good' but as above, on a spesh they won't be shit to the point of unusable, and there as some amazing 29er wheel set deals available as an upgrade to work towards.

I'm not really interested in the bike. I have a 29er rigid fork on my P7 and have entertained the idea for a while of trying out a 29er wheel on the front. Seen some of these wheels on ebay (seemingly looking like they will be quite cheap) and tried to find out a little more about them. Still not sure if it's even something I really want to try.

I assumed it was an error as well but there are a lot of different spesh bikes on different web sites, with the spec I posted and it seemed strange that they would all be typos. Could it be an error at source with spesh's spec sheets?

I have had problems with cup and cone in the past, getting them adjusted correctly and I'm not sure I can be arsed with it again. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
