Go down singletrack by side of road at triscombe stone then continue down road for say 50yds then straight on past wooden gate on fire trail, follow this for about 250meters just past a turning on right theirs a rocky shoot on the left, say 30-40yds past. Take this, sharp right at bottom and follow trail to T junction in trail, go left and the chimney is 50m infront of you going down into the trees. At bottom take 3rd left firetrail up to top.(rams combe) or just get sharki to show you around. Enjoy, theirs alot more better trails at Q but their all good.
Before you come up the ramsbottom combe, you'll of passed a small carpark on your left, with a small bridge over a stream.
The chimney comes out opposite this from the south.
To find the top of the trail, you'll need to find triscombe stone and ride east along the road from the carpark(or better still find the trail to the right of the road, it run parallel to the road. On a right hand corner, a farm track heads of to the left and a barrier blocks traffic from going straight onto a forest track..You go around the barrier and continue on the forest track, pass a turning to the right and look out for a grassy track on the left, there's usually a few puddles on it. Go down this and it turn steep for a short section. The chimney is the obvious gully dead ahead.
Thanks guys heading down tomorrow.
Weather forecast looks good, I really should take the MTB up there I've only ridden my CX up there (not down the Chimney though) for the past couple of months.
fergal, I hope you weren't one of the muppets sat having a picnic half way down the chimney on the track, scared the sh1t out of me ๐
