Morning all

we were heading to the Lakes for a long weekend but the weather looks pretty awful so a small group of us are going to sample the delights of the SW. Just wondering if anyone whould be kind enough to show us round. Beer and cake provided ๐Ÿ˜€

PS thats Fri/Sat or Sun

I should be about on friday for a brief ride, but depends on what time as i plan to be home for 4pm.

Not sure about Sat, might do a ride in the FOD.

Sunday a group ride is planned, but i'm considering wild camping and getting out really early from the sunrise to gain some needed miles.....

Where are you all planning on staying and where else are you thinking of riding? ie Exmoor, mendips, etc..

Sharki. we have just booked the campsite at Flaxpool near Crowcombe.
is that near you?

Planning on an exmoor ride - we were going to hire pre planned gps from justrideexmoor.

possibly the dartmoor route from the issue a few months back.

That's on the other side of the hill from me all good though.

Looking at the forcast, sunday pm is looking mighty wet, therefore not such a great time to be out on Dartmoor, or some of Exmoor where it's pretty exposed and isolated (though nothing like in a Lakes way).

I'd consider, dartmoor fri, exmoor sat and Quantocks sunday, where if the weather turns that bad you can bail pretty quickly if needed.

Or do 2 days on the Tox and do either of the Moor rides, Dartmoor will be almost a 2hr drive away, but well worth the drive.

I could be tempted, I'm only 4 miles down the road from Quantock Orchard.

I'd rather not read the gusset of your riding shorts...so thanks for letting me know to prevent my over inquisitive mind from needing to find out..

Nick, be affraid, be very affraid.

I'm the Quantocks only lycra clad single speeding DH'er, so you've a right to be nervous about me, hell i'm nervous when i'm around me..
