Quick question for my own sanity. I did an oil change on my 2008 32mm Fox Van R forks at the weekend and the damper is quite a bit different to the one on my 2004 Float RLC.
On the Float I have the slacken off a bolt beneath the shims underneath the top cap and then cycle the damper to purge old oil. On the Van the shim stack is at the other end of the damper and there is nothing in the manual about oil changes. However, just cycling the damper seemed to do a pretty good job of pumping out the old oil.
Am I missing something obvious here or is the newer damper design on the Van just more mechanic friendly?
Thanks
