Are there any benefits to actual riding fitness, or is it just a skills thing?

I guess I'm just looking for alternatives to all this miserable riding in water/mud

It's knackering.

So yes.

It's a great workout. Upper body, core, and it's also surprisingly tiring on the legs if you put continuous laps in. If you dig your own PT, it's an even better workout!

My pump track is miserable muddy mess so there is no escape from the dreaded mud. Go digging instead.

VH, where is this muddy mess of a pump track located? Wouldn't mind a go when it dries out!

My back garden ๐Ÿ˜€

It's small, imperfectly formed, underused and been a muddy mess too often this year.

Got a 8 arrangement working so I get less dizzy but its bloody Hard to get the lines. Cuz its so small you need total commitment. The 270 corner is so tight you need to be a hero to pull it off. I want to expand it but that means some serious excavation.

I need a bmx for it really.

I have a BMX but they're much easier to find than local pump tracks are!
