Seriously how did that steel spindle snap off?
Same happened to me as did Mark above. Luckily was a short distance from home at the time.
The bolt sheared at the end of the spindle and the pedal body just fell off 🙁
Had no choice but to "improvise" as I was about as far from the car as I was going to be 🙄

They are the only Shimano pedal I've ever had a problem with though.
Same thing happened to my mates XTRS.
Thought this kind of thing only happened reputedly to Crank Bros pedals 😉
