I figured folk might be interested that Sportpursuit.com have got Icebreaker stuff on offer again.

Please note no link - I guess you can find it yourselves these days ๐Ÿ™‚

But merino as a base is not all its cracked up to be is it? Ok for trekking.

Not sure really. I've always got on well with them - nice and warm in the winter and wick well when it's a bit warmer out. I'm often amazed at how wet the inside of my jacket is at the end of a ride while I'm nice and comfy.

I know some folk don't rate it that highly but you pays your money...

I've mostly gone back to poly and put up with smelling! I want to try bamboo next.

ive had a few merino and bamboo, and have to say i prefer bamboo by quite some margin....

Merino is awesome! Never had a problem with probably got about 15 pieces of merino from 150g sleeveless base layers all the way up to 260gram thick woolly winter jumpers. I love the stuff, don't like the feel of the poly stuff, slimy. Each to their own.. really can't justify any MORE merino!
