UPDATE: Reviews section refreshed, redesigned, searchable: Go take a look
Maybe this has been discussed before, but I thought I'd let everyone have the benefit of my experience so they don't have to go through it their self.
I stupidly ordered a bike from BikeInn, it was due to be delivered in a week, which was totally cool. A week came and went, the tracking info was working fine until the day it was due to be delivered. And then something changed, the tracking number no longer worked, it had been changed by BikeInn.
I emailed them, and then tried to call them, three times. Each time I was on hold for 15 minutes, and then got message to tell me to call back later and then they cut the line.
I managed to track down a number for the courier, and spoke to their head office. They managed to track down my bike through us working through details of my order - as the tracking number they gave me wasn't recognised by them. It was in Gerona, Spain. It would be at least a week for it to make it to me in the UK.
I managed to get an email reply from BikeInn, they actually replied three times for some reason.
My email asked them to give me the correct tracking number, their reply was complete nonsense - either AI or scripted replies. It said something about if I needed to return the item I had, what the process was, and another was saying I needed to contact them with my order number. All off topic and very strange.
I dread to think how it's going to be if the bike arrives damaged.
I then checked on Trust pilot, and saw the state of their reviews over the past few months, and it's really bad. I should have checked first.
So, I'd advise, don't order from here. They're obviously having cash flow issues and cutting corners on delivery and customer service people, and that's having clear impacts on delivery and customer service.
I pretty much always buy from local bike shops, I just wanted a very specific bike that was only available from them, and made a dumb mistake of thinking they were decent and reliable.
So, you have been warned and PSA'd.
Cheers!
eeh, good reminder - I tend to treat all the European webstores as the same, but they're really not. I've tried to avoid Bikeinn/ dressinn etc since last summer - placed an order of bike parts, few shorts etc, and was told it'd be 2 weeks for delivery. Two weeks came and went, no sign of the parcel, no updates. Turned out they'd shipped 3/4 of the order to Germany, then put the whole order on hold because one item wasn't available (but showed as available on the website). I removed that item from the order and everything else eventually arrived another 10 days later. So not terrible service as such, but enough to put me off them
I've never had a problem with them. Delivery can be slow... certainly slower than they quote. When dealing with the lowest bidder, it is always wise to lower expectations and have a contingency plan! Tempting though, as they often have stock that isn't available elsewhere.
I'd have no problem *if* they gave an estimate that was roughly true. And *if* they would either answer the phone, reply to me emails with a non-nonsense reply, or have a live chat that wasn't AI slop.
I order stuff from China all the time, and the wait times are pretty long - 4 to 6 weeks. And I never would complain, the difference is - I don't get told at checkout that it'll be a delivered on a specific day and that day ends up being weeks away from the actual day of delivery.
It's pretty simple customer service, don't promise what you can't deliver.
It's the same as going into a cafe and they say the food will be 5 minutes, but it takes an hour. Expectation setting is incredibly important.
I've used them in the past without any issues, however fast delivery is not their thing no matter what they say.
Yeah I've ordered a few inconsequential bits from them over the years and delivery times have been very inaccurate. I kind of knew that going in though, so was prepared for the wait.
Anything expensive or needed 'relatively' quickly - forget it.
They're probably near the bottom of the pile for me in terms of who I would prefer to give businesses to. However as above sometimes they have stuff listed which is unavailable elsewhere.
Delivery and dispatch to the UK seems very random and slow. I'm not sure what their 'real' stock situation is (whether they have stock in multiple warehouses or have a lot that they order in from the supplier when you place an order). Customer service is slow and not very helpful
But they're cheap (especially around Black Friday when you get a X% off nearly everything) and have stuff that no-one else does.
I'd not order a bike from them
I've got used to companies being honest and pretty accurate with delivery times these days. Its very infrequent that I order something and it's way off the delivery window estimate.
I suspect they give wildly inaccurate estimates to ensure they get new customers. Which is a fine strategy if you want a business that will last a couple of years - there's a limited amount of new customers. You want repeat customers, and you get those through developing trust. They'd have a far more sustainable business model if they gave realistic delivery estimates.
Oh well, live and learn!
I will say, I did try to get the same bike in the UK, but no one would come anywhere near the price BikeInn had.
Trying to recall if it's tradeinn that is apparently a omey laundering front fir some nefarious stuff....
But yeah their delivery is shit.
I had a poor experience with Bikeinn last month as well. I ordered a Topeak pressure gauge, and while the box looked fine upon arrival, the gauge inside was scratched to hell. I emailed support 15 minutes after it arrived, but after contacting them repeatedly, I was eventually told it was my problem and I could pay for the return myself if I didn't want it. They couldn't care less. Delivery also took about 3 weeks.
I've used them a good bit and agree with above that they are often the only source for odd specific components. I use their Snowinn probably more than their Bikeinn, but maybe 6 or 7 times a year since Brexit. Slow, but always arrived for me.
Hate to break it to you, but there tends to be two delays points with tradeinn - getting it actually dispatched is the first.....the more significant often tends to be the customs clearance. It seems getting from EU into the UK is more problematic in terms of delays than China to UK.
My standards are low though - I have had to get used to anything that ends up getting in the hands of Evri taking 10-14 days from arriving at my local depot to attempting actual delivery. It has taught me patience!
then put the whole order on hold because one item wasn't available (but showed as available on the website)
Yeah, this is my experience.
Wasnt bothered by speedy delivery as I ordered well in advance of when I needed the bits, well I thought over a month was 'well in advance'. Ordered 4 items, all in stock then waited and waited....checked and one item was an issue as now delayed from the stockist so cancelled that one item which should have then freed up the rest of the order for dispatch then waited...another week passes with no dispatch, check another item now delayed and it was at that point I gave up and cancelled the whole order.
I kind of knew they didnt have a great rep but thought Id give them a try as the bits I wanted werent available readily in he UK. Cant say I would have risked a bike order with them. Good luck OP
