So apparently there's been a bit of a spate of robberies and people on bikes being attacked around Haley Park down to Blackweir by a group of three lads on Surons, kicked as they go past etc. Last night some friends kids had a run in with these three and managed to run off from them, my son wasn't so fortunate, he was riding along and was kicked very hard, this was near the dirt jumps, they then sped off, he encountered them a bit later and one threw a rock the size of your fist at his head, luckily he was wearing a full face lid so only got scratches, he reckons they were about thirteen, although I think there is more than one group involved in what's going on, called 101 etc, just a warning really for anyone local as to what's going on around there at the mo.

I was working in Newport a few years back - lads with no helmets on crossers riding on pavements near the rough estate. Actually saw a police car drive past some of them and not bat an eyelid

Spoke with some local cops here in Manchester, and apparently unless you've had the specific training, chasing kids on motorbikes/electric bikes is a strict no-no. Which is fair enough really, no one wants these kids to injured or killed in a high speed chase by the cops (despite what folks might say on SM)

They're a particular menace round here (south manchester) but some of them are drug mules and are often carrying knives; think twice before confronting them.

Please don't think twice! Fear is the only reason that this behaviour thrives.

You don't need to have a confrontation but you should make sure they know you've seen them and are aware of thier behaviour. Then report them to the Police. I'm not recommending anyone confronts these folks or puts themselves in danger but how 'we' respond defines how long the problem continues to be a problem.

The net is tightening, certainly on the three youngsters causing havoc, they were caught on CCTV beating up other kids and now through the power of social media we know who they are and where they go to school, this includes the kid who threw a rock at my son's head, hopefully something will actually happen, or at very least the attention on them will cause them to stop what they're doing.

That's good to hear. Fingers crossed they'll have the bikes seized and if it's anything to do with county lines or other criminal activity it will help the police break it up.

We had 3 scrotes on Saurons down our road yesterday evening. One decided to show off wheelieing and fell off in front of his mates, which was quite funny. unfortunately I didn't have phone to hand at the time.
