Thank you for your e-mail.

I have checked this for you and found that this product is still a current item and we should be receiving further stock of this, Unfortunately the issue we are having is locating the stock for our warehouse.

Unfortunately we do not have any dates on when this will happen, I can only recommend that you keep a check on our website for further information.

Please accept my apologies for your inconvenience, and thank you again for your e-mail.

Kind Regards
Manish Solanki

Hi,

You have the Garmin 800 on special offer (web only) but are currently sold out; will you be getting more stock in at the offer price?

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_844127_langId_-1_categoryId_165741

Thanks,

Looks like i've got an 800 with gb mapping on the way.

Been looking at these for ages and waiting for the price to come down a bit. 😀

Mine's ordered. With the extra 10% off as well. Arrives New Years Eve. Which is a pity as we're in Holland, but has the advantage that I now have time to describe the necessity of having one to Mrs W.

By far and away the most replied to thread ive ever started!!

Mine's stashed as a pressi to myself for playing with over Xmas 🙂

Price is still excellent, even at raised levels and without extra discount..

Surprised they're still putting them out cheap!

Bugger just used my £50 off CRC voucher to get it for £309 😥 arrived on Saturday, and it is as good as everyone says even just after a week.

For those of you who have managed to get one I found this really useful

useful link. Ta. I've been messing around with mine and that's cleared up a few questions. Certainly somewhat more complex than my 205!

Quick Q, I use tracklogs for route planning, always used the "courses" option when saving (as opposed to routes or tracks) on the 205 as that's all that worked. Still the same with the 800 does anyone know?

Yeah, I know about the code, but the base prices have gone up by roughly 10% since yesterday.

Edit: Oh...I see...a 10% Xmas discount bringing the price down, then apply voucher at checkout. Doh!

not followed it closely enough to see if they've put the base prices up to coincide with (and effectively cancel out) the extra 10% Xmas checkout discount, just plugged it all through to see what the current price is (got a big b'day in new year so could be a pressy idea).

At first i thought the RRP was £449 on this but i take it that its the £349RRP bundle?

£255 doesnt seem quite as good as i first thought.

OS bundle RRP is £399, OS and HRM/cadence RRp is 450, but Halfords don't sell that.

Most places sell the OS bundle for between 350 and 400, maybe a little less if they're doing an offer off everything (e.g. Wiggle recently - 15% off but that was only a good deal if you a platinum customer).

So, £255 instead of say £375 on average aint bad at all in my book:)

(I did a bit toom uch obsessive research into these before I eventually splashed out!)

Thought I would try and get one before the extra 10% off discount expires at midnight, but the website is dying a slow death so looks like I will not be getting one after all.

h4muf,

thanks for showing us roughly were you live, I'll pop round later and nick yer bike!!

On a serious note best not to start recording near home and then making the route public. Of course you may have started it outside someone else's house ?!?

ChrisS - good point, I never start mine until I'm 2 streets away but the hard the is remembering to switch it off on the way back before you get to your street. They should add a function that removes the first and last 1/2 mile from the public view.
