i was under the impression all u needed to do was get the end caps for a evo hub to convert to a maxle from standard qr. this

but i got the kit with the axle just incase i had any problems with it.
the end caps didnt fit which i then thought ok its got maybe a 15mm as standard then adapters 2 fit a standard qr on the evo. then tried to use the 12 mm axle which then the freehub wouldnt go onto. so took it to my lbs where they said u gota change bearings in the freehub which already i was hacked off with. once they got bearings out they said the new bearings aint going in the evo freehub. (alarm bells started ringing) they didnt charge me for the freehub they had lying around. just the bearings and cost off fitting around 30 quid. point is i was sure this didnt need to be done. has anyone else run into these problems. so its cost me 45 quid when it should of been 12 quid.
that will be why then. thought the end caps would be the same as the link in my post
