Hi guys and gals,
Quick question?
Will a Pro II Evo freehub fit an older Pro II hub?
Can't see any real difference but wondered if anyone could confirm.
Cheers

Yes as the hub shell dimensions are the same but not with the existing standard pro2 axle/bearings. You can convert a standard Pro2 to Evo but you'll need new axle, bearings and freehub...

This is my plan.
Busted standard Pro II freehub on the hardtail.
Full sus is Pro II Evo.
I was going to buy an Evo steel freehub for the full sus then put the alloy Evo freehub on the standard Pro II hub.
Basically upgrading the full sus and transferring the alloy freehub over to the HT.
Can this be done withouy changing axles etc?
If not, I'll just buy a standard Pro II freehub and not bother switching them.
Cheers
EDIT: just checked your link, looks like it'll cost over £110 to convert, I'll just buy a standard, older style freehub for £50 🙂
Note that the steel and alloy freehub bodies are normally the same price, also apart from the bearings and axle dias being different, more recent evos have more points of engagement. Not sure if this impacts freehub choice.
I just used a cracked freehub as an excuse for a steel hub and 10mm TA for mine...
It's going on my winter hardtail so not too fussed about upgrading tbh, I'll just stick with a standard Pro II freehub to endure I don't have any problems with compatibility.
