New chain, same length in links as that which it replaced - slipping in the smaller cogs under power but fine if smooth technique.
Should I have got a new cassette with the chain?

Probably but is it doing it on every chainring on the front just to ensure there not worn

Yes, but it might bed in (my road one did).
I await the new superlight all aluminium transmission for SRAM, shimano et al...
