Does anyone use the Rudy project sunglasses with prescription? Just wondering what the glasses are like with the prescription adaptor behind the main lens?

I've used RP Exception for about 7 years, and as I have a very strong precription they're about the only frames that work for me. The ImpactX lenses are very good - I use them 95% of the time, with brown laser lenses for very sunny.
I'm currently waiting for my opticians to have the inserts for a pair of RP Maya to be glazed - I understand that they'll probably be the first pair in the UK.

Thanks for that. Do they fog up at all? Are they still light with the adaptor.
The trails I ride are very often into quite dark woods, so wondering if the red lens would be any good or to go just for a clear phototromic lens?

I used Rudy Project with rx adaptors a few years ago, did'nt find the extra weight a problem but I did find they fogged up pretty badly & were terrible in the rain with water running down 2 pairs of lenses. Eventually gave up with them & now just wear normal every day prescription glasses - far better in my opinion, less protection but far less misting & miles better in the rain.

Rain isn't great with glasses, but then it wouldn't be. Yes, they do mist a bit but just push the frames down a bit and flip the outers up one notch to get airflow. I haven't used the clear ImpactX lenses (yet) but from a brief trial on Wednesday morning standing out in Lambs Conduit St they go dark quickly.

My usual riding mate uses these but complains about the fogging. His eyesight is so-so and can take them off when overfogged. He does say they don't fog up with no insert, which was exactly my experience with Addidas prescription inserts

I have some Rudy Project Noyz and Zyon and swop the Rx insert between them.
As some one from optical manufacturering I have played around with a lot of nice technical solutions over the years for biking.
This is the most versatile options in terms of changing the lens colour for different conditions and for allowing the use of a broad range of prescription lenses which can be glazed with standard equipment, also ask the optical practice to glaze the the optical centres 3-7 mm above datum to help reduce distortion in the worn position when in the saddle.
I mostly use clear, photochromic and have some mirrors for sunny days which don't get used much and are too dark for riding in wooded areas.
Field of vision is reasonble.

Unfortunatley all glasses will be an issue in wet or humid condition but I find they tend to mist up most when you are hot and stop for a short while. This can be helped by using anti-misting sprays or solutions or even wiping with soap solution on clean damp cloth and allowing to dry.
Get Rx lenses with a MAR coat (Mult-anti reflection) and a hydrophobic coating. The hydrophobic wears of after 6-12 months depending on cleaning but doesn't cost any more on branded Rx lenses.

The only other issue I've found is movement/vibration of the frame with full face helmets and cut up trails with say bad braking bumps, things get a bit blurry 🙂
