Hi.
I have serviced my 2013 revelation rct3 forks..but am just wondering what the best method of inflation is..
Following the guide I have been using on youtube (mtbr) hr suggests fully compressing the fork prior to inflation, but reading a post on here the other day I cannot recall which loco replied to someone's problem with inflating the fork while fully compressed being a possible cause. Il try find the thread.
What's yo method?

Hopeless link sorry
If you inflate it fully compress you have a vacuum in the lower legs when at anything other than full compression. This can draw crap past the wiper seals as its constantly trying suck air in. The vacuum won't last and with time you will soon need to adjust your air springs pressure to compensate.
All forks should be reassembled with stanchions fully extended, failure to do this will create a vacuum in the lowers (when re-extended), this vacuum acts like a secondary negative spring sucking the forks into their travel.
Brilliant thank you!
Tbh that explains alot as I serviced my forks last month for the first time and followed "al's" mtbr guide on youtube where he says along the lines of.."it's a good idea to fully compress the fork before adding psi" and then actually does that on the video..
I have experienced all the problems you both mentioned. Worryingly though when I first serviced the fork the air shaft was full of the gunk from the lowers..exactly like you said..like it had been sucked in.
Going to ride them tomorrow, I bet they're going to feel great now.
