With a right turn down Beast instead of left as a small detour at the end? Start and finish in Edale- same route as the previous STW ride?

Not sure if parts of the route might need a rethink - the snow was thigh deep in places yesterday.

Metcheck's forecasting snow tomorrow to Thursday and very cold for the rest of the week for West Sheffield - seemed to tally pretty much last week...

I always like a challenge riding in tough conditions. But Cavedale and in particular the Limestone way track to get to Cavedale from Mam Tor were 'interesting' on Saturday. The Limestone way track was wall to wall waist high snow drifts for a mile, Cavedale would have been a challenge but maybe possible as it wasn't completely frozen, but the last two days heavy frost have probably turned it to sheet ice.

For once, I was glad I had left my bike at home and enjoyed the walk.

And as the snow and frost are set to stay/get worse by the weekend....
Have fun......!

Tandemonium - we have very similar pics from Sunday. The higher path aling the back of Mam Tor was thigh deep in places. Well, I say path - I had no clue where the path actually was.
Was impressed/horrified to see that someone appears to have snowboarded down from the summit too. Crazy!

TN, saw that track on Mam Tor yesterday. Made me want to go home and grab my 'board. Mind you, a long walk up for a short ride down!!

Think I'll grab my crampons and ice axe and head back to Kinder and go play.....might take the board up to come back down on though!!....

I'd be up for a ride this weekend hora. I'm only in Sale and I need to get my fitness back up after xmas for Hit the North.

I am, however Rivi t'other day was trying. TBH we'd be better off putting alot of weight into large rucksacks and humping over the hills.

Is there ANYWHERE this weekend thats missing the snow/ridable?

Best guess is west Wales for anything like.

Also from Sale and have rediscovered the delights of the Mersey riverbank this past week. Run a big gear and give it some!!

West Wales? CyB, 'tis relatively near the coast to get some protection from this weather. Looked OK until the last 24 hours of snow...

Samehere but its got to be doable. It was an experience riding on ice and thick snow over the hols- but you get to the point where you just want to relax and enjoy the ride rather than analysising and over-concentrating whilst crawling ๐Ÿ™
