Got a new Monarch to fit and a heavy duty bush kit from TFT.

Rockshox say to grease bushes before fitting, but they only show DU bushes being fitted....

Am I right in thinking grease and polymer bushes don't mix though? Either on the pin/ bush interface OR shock bore/ bushing area?

Cheers guys....and be kind!

I never grease between the shock and bearing. I don't want these to move relative to each other. Depending in the bearing material, I do lube between the bearing and the shaft.

Cheers mate, that makes sense.

Pretty sure I shouldn't grease the pin/bushing interface either so will leave both well alone.

Thanks again!

What bearing do they supply on those kits? I use igus bearings on my Fox shock and Turner pivots and always grease between shaft and bearing.

DU I run dry as they swell and the coating comes apart if you grease them.

One pin is alloy, other steel as it's longer.

Bushing itself is polymer rather than du etc.

You can use lithium grease on polymer bushes if you want, but I dont personally think its needed, they slip in easy enough in a vice.
