The car park at Swinley is an interesting place, not if you're into dogging :?but watching people unpack their bikes got me thinking. What is the most popular bike for riding here? I've ridden 575's and Souls and both, I felt performed brilliantly. I see people on SS fully rigids and 200mm DH monsters.

So what do you ride? Not what should YOU ride!

Crosser, hardtail, 120mm full-suss and my three year old's balance bike.
I'd say the latter is the most fun (got some great looks from the guys in full armour).

I keep seeing lots of people on DH rigs with armour and full facers. There are however a bigger number of trail bikes with medium travel and specialised, trek or giant on the down tube!

Riders look lost though.

The car park at Swinley is an interesting place,

IMO most larger car-parks in popular biking areas are like that. Illustrates the variety of choice etc. Often the same on 15-20 people group rides where we all have different bikes/frames/forks/wheels/saddles/posts/pedals etc.

4" carbon FS my usual choice though.

Spacemonkey. I agree it's just that's where I ride most often so taking it as an example. I love the fact that there is such a broad spectrum of bikes and riders, don't see many CX bikes though? That would be a pretty good choice! Maybe avoid labyrinth and the gully though.
