Had my eye on a Ti frame for a while, some look immaculate others look a little tired. Is I easy to restore them to their former glory of looking immaculate?
If so how is it done? It mainly cable rub type marks.
Cheers
Smooth emery sponge type thing according to the guy I bought my Gary fisher Prometheus from and its 20 odd years old with no marks.
Scotchbrite and autosol and a big tub of elbow grease.
To keep on top of it-Baby oil, seriously.
Other than the elbow greese which I have in excess, is it easy to get a frame lookin like new, I.e get rid of the cable rub? It's a charge frame and looks like a brushed finish, would using Auto sol make it too shiny? Reason I ask is I love Autosol (sad) an have always used it to get a mirror like finish but that is on aluminium (saint cranks etc)?
P.S I get the baby oil thing I use it on my stainless steel splash back in the kitchen!
Use Autosol on mine with a brushed finish and just makes it smooth to touch and covers the rags in black tarnish........ Doesn't make it any shinnier.
Brasso/Duraglit
Thrustyjust...cheers...byt it cleans it up though?

Seems to make it smoother and repel water/ mud. I do it once a year just to get rid of the tarnishing, when I start doing the Jones'd cranks and move onto the frame.....
A light coat of mud solves all those issues. ๐
